Lorenzo Quinn, the prestigious Italian sculptor who was born in Rome in 1966, has granted exclusive rights to the Rafart Gallery to be the only place where it is possible to see all of his works and to get a real insight into the personal world of this artist.Although he is still very young in terms of the world of art, it is possible to say that Lorenzo Quinn has already had a long artistic career. From a tender age, he demonstrated the capacity to communicate emotions through his work. For example, at only 21, he won the respect of the art lovers of New York when he created a work for the United Nations, which was also commemorated in the form of a stamp.A short time later, he was commissioned by the Vatican to produce a sculpture to commemorate the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Anthony. The Pope blessed the sculpture in Saint Peter’s Square before 35,000 people and it was then placed in the Basilica, where it remains to this day, and has become one of the most visited works in the city.
He has held exhibitions on all five continents and his work is present at all of the world’s major international art fairs. All of his work reflects the quest for a world united by emotions and values, many of which are often forgotten. November 2007 saw the inauguration of the only gallery in the world exclusively dedicated to this Italian artist, which exhibits over 100 of his works. They are exhibited for everyone to enjoy and it is also possible to buy or personally commission work. The Rafart Gallery is also involved in organising and holding exhibitions at both the national and international levels in collaboration with galleries from all over the world.
The gallery is in Almenar (El Segrià – Lands of Lleida). EThis location was chosen because of the interest in art of the Rafart family and the fact that Almenar is a strategic point for communications. The artist speaks of this gallery as a space that has nothing to envy in comparison with art centres in the likes of London, New York and Tokyo. All of this has been possible because of the many years of friendship between the Quinn and Rafart families. After Ramiro Rafart acquired a large collection of works of art, he decided to create a space where they could be put on display and enjoyed by other art lovers. In Almenar (El Segrià – Lands of Lleida)), visitors really feel embraced by the values and sentiments that float seem to float in the air and which are the sum total of the gazes of all the people who have already passed through the Rafart Gallery and those who are yet to do so. The works of Lorenzo Quinn speak to the people who contemplate them and who are awakened in both heart and mind. They are products of great feeling and that truly explore the depths of human existence.At the gallery, it is possible to acquire original works of art by Lorenzo Quinn and also limited series. It is open to all types of client and it is possible to commission personalised sculptures and small sculptures in the form of limited edition jewellery of great artistic value. The gallery is open to the general public.The Rafart Gallery welcomes visitors to a place of clam and contemplation.
