  • El Vilosell, which is one of the prettiest villages in the comarca (local district) of Les Garrigues, has a permanent population 200 inhabitants.
It is about 3 km from the Serra (ridge) de la Llena and is surrounded by attractive landscapes.
The whole village, which still conserves its pebbled streets, is interesting and offers an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Come and discover it!

    What to visit

The village still conserves the remains of an old castle, a Romanesque style gateway and a baroque style parish church. There is a 14th century gothic style stone cross in front of the Ermita de Sant Sebastià (hermitage) and the baroque style Ermita de Sant Miquel de la Tosca, at a place called Les Fontetes, 3 km from the village. It is also possible to arrange a visit to a private collection about farmers and rural life (Tel. 00 34 973 175 219).

    Routes

The Ruta del riu Set: this route runs from the source of the river Set, at Sant Miquel de la Tosca (Vilosell) to El Cogul, where the river leaves the comarca Les Garrigues. It is 36 km long and passes through the villages of Vilosell, L'Albi, Cervià de les Garrigues, L'Albagés and El Cogul. The route is signposted in both directions.
